Speeding Up and Slowing Down

I'm recently feeling the weight of a lot of good things I've taken on. Really, really good things, but a lot of them. It's caused me to max out my time-away-from-boys schedule, with every hour they're sleeping from 5am on being occupied with work, writing, fellowship work, and other house keeping items. It puts my mind in a very happy but busy space.

The pace that my alone time has taken on requires me to really slow down in every way when I'm with the boys, and it's been amazing for all of us. I put my phone away. Sit on the floor. Watch them play. Watch people walk by outside. I cook. Read books to them. Bake pumpkin bread.

It's a really beautiful balance that I'm finding pulls out the best of every part of our day.
