Paris Day 4: Michael Visits the Louvre
I do too, but Michael for the first time. To be on the grounds and in the building of the Louvre is staggering - and then there's the fact that you're also surrounded by art from almost every period in time. Ancient sculptures, baroque paintings, Italian, Greek, Egyptian, Middle Eastern - the list goes on. Art for the sake of expression and impression (or remembering) seem so core to the human experience.
We took walking in smaller, slower pieces and still ended up walking just as much as the days before. We've gotten to see so much of Paris, and we both just feel so happy. We've never truly vacationed in a city together for longer than a weekend. And never such a global city.
It's been amazing to get to experience Michael process everything he's seeing and understanding for the first time. I guess I'm lucky that he's a verbal processor and taking me along for his entire ride. Our walks are never without talking.
While we were walking home tonight, we settled on middle names for both a boy and a girl. Both of them are from my family.
